So yesterday I went to the Bullshido.net Throwdown for the Detroit area. For people who don't know (read: most people) Bullshido is a website dedicated to rooting out fraudulent practices in martial arts. Throwdowns are more or less a get together for forum members to spar and test out their skills. I had some good times, met some cool people, walked into a couple nice shots that rung my bell pretty good.
If there's anything I've taken away from this, is that the longer I train, the more fun all this is becoming. I've always been fairly competitive, though only in the realm of video games, but now that I'm actually learning a sport I enjoy I'm becoming just as competitive in this regard. Meeting like-minded people has been a refreshing experience for me. It's nice to have something to do besides waste away on a couch.
